Message 1275 - Posted 10 Dec 2005 22:53:30 UTC

I\'ve attached and was successful. I had the project suspended and just now tried resume.

I get these messages (cannot copy from remote host):
    sending request to scheduler
message from server: there was work but you don\'t have enough disk space allocated.
message from server: no disk space (you must free 1028.6 MB before BOINC gets space)...
    no work from project

This is not possible on this host. It has 3.92 GiB reserved for BOINC and only 1.881 GiB in use, meanning 2.039 GiB is free.

My venue should be set to home, which it is on the website.

My log shows for SZTAKI that when I attached it was \"home\", but then after the 1st work request you returned \"0\" and not \"home\", so you are returning no venue and using the wrong set of venue preferences, which would produce this error.

I got the same message: no disk space (you must free 1029.2 MB before BOINC gets space)
while I have several gigabytes of space left.

Both of my computers display a number instead of the correct venue, e.g.:
      18-12-2005 11:10:56|Predictor @ Home|Computer ID: 49423; location: school; project prefs: default
18-12-2005 11:10:56|SETI@home|Computer ID: 1245008; location: school; project prefs: default
      18-12-2005 11:10:56|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Computer ID: 1237; location: 307758.31884; project prefs: default

Changing the location on the website has no effect.

I notice that the problem still exists.

Is there any chance the developers/administrators will look at this and correct it?

The problem is that the query used by the scheduler is a generic SELECT * from a base class and if the table is not laid out in the correct collom order you will see this miss match. I know that until this is fixed I cannot give SDG increased resources as I use venues to set proportions on resource shares between my OS-X and Windows machines.

Common guys, another project had this exact same error and it is know to be a mistake in the adding of the new column. If it is not in just the right place it does not get read right and we get this bug.

One of the very reasons you don\'t want to use SELECT * queries, but that is another discussion ...

                      Thanks Adam;

It seems to be working, saw correct venue come up on several hosts along with a much larger supply of work, so far no apparent anomalies with the fix.

New work is generated as you return your results...
...crunch faster and you\'ll have your new work ;-]

Although, work generation is still a messy thing. Our next big step will be to develop an absolutely reliable work generator program...
