It is a very interesting thing, what was influence of SZTAKI on other projects ?
I think about Hungurian participation in other projects.
If SZTAKI decreased somehow this participation or the other way
SZTAKI increased Hungarian participation in other projects according to bigger activating of national motivation.
Do you know some long term statistics, which could confirm any of this statements ?

Artur maybe you\'ve missunderstood something. Our goal is to let the Hungarian researchers
( by researcher I mean someone who has a program with a large ammount of input data [suitable for the BOINC-platform] and who without an access to a supercomputer would have to tackle with the processing of input data for years or decades long...
[funnily enough usually someone matching the description is a researcher him/herself...just kidding :-) ] )
realize that the PRC-modell is a very cheap and effective way of assigning computing power to a computation-intensive application. So to say our goal is server-sided, if you get what I mean.
Of course as a side-effect more clients joins BOINC-projects from Hungary, but we haven\'t conducted any research on the influence of our work, yet. Anyways, thanks for the great idea, sometimes when more peaceful days would come I\'ll deffinetly do some research in this area...

I\'d like to point a possible very important implication of this side-effect for human knowledge and for development of BOINC or of similiar projects in the future. If national science projects could activate for science bigger distributed computing potential, then they \"consume\" so international science shoud make use of such multiply effect by supporting science projects of other nations.
Anyway, it\'s clear that even by participating in science projects some national motivations exist. If so, any national project will add an \"additional national share\" to the human science and from that reason national projects like your Hungarian project should be supported.
And in the end ... I hope, some day you will send me results of your research in this area ;).

By this do you mean that SZTAKI Desktop Grid is more like a project of projects, somewhat like WCG? Only that at the moment you have only one ongoing application/research effort?
Ae there more in the wings?
Anyway, I am interested in the penetration aspects of getting more people in from a speciffic country and if it mostly enlarges the country specific projects, or BOINC as a whole. CPDN is doing a similar access project where they are trying to get a large influx of participants and it will be interesting to see if we can detect a \"wave\" of new people in the other projects or not ...
