Could some one explain the credits system please.

I\'m new to this game, and don\'t understand how my total credit is a lot less than my average credit.

It seems to be the wrong way round.

Is just me looking at it wrong?

No, I see the same thing. An often-used analogy for total and average credit compares them respectively to a vehicle\'s odometer and speedometer. Accordingly you appear to be on the motorway, but having logged little distance so far.

You can expect your RAC to fluctuate for a while until you\'ve established a consistent pattern of production. It\'s a weighted average based on exponential decay with a half-life of a week, calculated each time you\'re granted credit, so without a long history the formula can produce statistical \'blips\' at first. For further details see the BOINC Wiki articles on credit and RAC.

Odysseus is right! Your Recent Avarage Credit (RAC) shows how acitve you\'ve been lately. Total credit 1000 and RAC 0 would tell me, that sometime ago you\'ve been active and gained 1000 credits, but for some reason you\'ve stoped participating lately, so your RAC has dropped to 0. If you would then restarted your participation than your RAC would start to raise and so I could tell that you\'re not lazy anymore...
