I found msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll both in \\Program File\\Boinc and \\Program Files\\BOINC\\projects\\szdg.lpds.sztaki.hu_szdg. Are they necessary in both locations?

DLLs will be found along the PATH shell variable and in the directory where the program itself is.

As the BOINC directory usually isn\'t an element of PATH and the project program is not executed in the BOINC directory, it needs to be in both locations.

SZTAKI cannot rely on the files in the BOINC folder as BOINC is open source and several people are using clients made with different compilers - and those often do not come with the Microsoft DLLs

So the answer is \"yes\", you need both.

You probably could move the DLLs to the windows/system32 directory, then they would not be needed in other places anymore - but if you deleted them in their current project locations, BOINC would insist in re-downloading them ;-)

So both Boinc and Sztaki need them! I found older versions in system32 only. Thanks.
