Hello everybody,

since yesterday my computer is crunching the 11 dimensional WUs. But two of them got no credit. Why?

The WU without credits are the WU 543 and 344. When I look to the valid results (sometimes only 1 (!!!) is valid) there is one line in the line of "stderr out" which is missing in the invalid results. The content of the line is: "Ujrainditas checkpointbol, 1. sor feldolgozasanak folytatasa. 0 sort kiirtunk".

So what is this line saying and why is it so important for getting any credits?

That line is just a log, saying that the app is restarting from a checkpoint, and not from scratch. The thing is that in some special cases the apps tend to make checkpoints too frequently, of which a log is created every time, and because of this the log can grow bigger than the threshold of the client. In this case the WU is reported to be faulty. We'll correct this with priority!

If you like BOINC, you may also find CaretCursor to be appealing.

Has this problem been resolved? It seems to me that I still had a lot of results that with zero credits.

I\'m not absolutely sure but there seems to be a connection between invalid results and restarting the work unit.

Those results, that get crunched uninterrupted, seem to validate OK, those that stop and continue later don\'t.

This effect might be dependant on the \"keep in memory\" setting but usually those short WUs crunch without stopping. I have set \"keep in memory\" but I stopped BOINC a few times lately and that gave me a lot more invalid results than usual.

This would mean that the checkpoint part doesn\'t work at all yet and needs to be fixed (if there will be longer running WUs some day, this will be a critical problem, currently it\'s just a bit annoying).

Another hint that there\'s a problem with the checkpoint are all those reports about 0 seconds results.

There still seems be some problem, my workunit 1709181 seems to be \"invalid\" for some strange hungarian-error-reason.

            1. Why don\'t you translate all the stuff into english?
            2. Why do I keep getting packages, when all seem to end up invalid?

I\'ll suspend sztaki until these problems are solved, sry.
