host id 0 problems here too ?
i fixed my machines that were recently requesting new id every visit, by edit client state. the 3 pc\'s had windows re-installed, but boinc was months old on them, no idea why they lost their old host numbers or couldn\'t take the new.

A bug on the server side, it would need to be resolved.

        ok here is the cause

when you set Your rescorce % from your account manager ( ie bam ) it loses about 6 lines the

        project_prefs
        section + 1 \'carrage return\'

the fix for now is to go to the pages that the project owns and readjust your \'project prefs there\'

        p.s. the [ code ] [ /code]doesnt work here

OK, I have the same problem with an Athlon Duo running Windows XP Pro SP2, and I am using BAM to update all my machines.

As with yours, the processor id on the Athlon Duo is 0, as is the RPC number. I updated the processor id to its current value, saved it and then did an update.

Processor id reset to zero, a new processor created in the table, and again I had to merge them.

Is there a real fix or what did I do wrong?

(I assume that by \"processor id\" you mean the \"hostid\" tag in the xml files, correct me if I am mistaken) When I attempted to manually set the hostid tag (for Leiden Classical), only changing the client_state.xml and client_state_prev.xml did not work. I found instances of \"hostid tag = 0\" in the following files:

            acct_mgr_request.xml
            client_state.xml
            client_state_prev.xml
            sched_reply.xml
            sched_request.xml

You may need to change every instance of the hostid tag = zero in all of the files (and you may find that shed_reply.xml is already correct, I did). This remedied my problems, hope this helps yours.

Right. I edited all the files mentioned above, and it seems to have fixed the problem.

              Thanks,
