    Hi

I stopped crunching for this project when the work units turned too long. What is the average time say for a P4 3.3 with 1 gig memory ?

Also has this project gone over to fixed credits like SETI, EINSTEIN to stop the cheats ???

    Thanks

      AFAIK:

      - WUs time could be everything from 0.17 to 302,448.59 sec - in my case (Core Duo 6300 1,83GHz)
      - no fixed credits - middle value out of three valid results
      - no credit for \"too many results\" ;)

Most WUs take now between 10 and 80 minutes with me. Sometimes we get a recycled WU of the 21b342bd series which need between 22 and 31 hours. Try not to stop Boinc as some people have reported problems with the checkpoint system, especially for the long 1-liners.
no fixed credits - middle value out of three valid results

This is still the case and in my understanding must stay like this as the crunching time needed is unpredictable at WU creation.

No, at least not automatically. You might ask Ádám to grant credit manually; he did this several times in the past when crunchers got no credit for good crunching work.

I\'ve had some WUs, still pending, with my P3 933-MHz Linux box that clocked in at over 300K seconds. Most seem to be around the 15K to 25K seconds range.

True, that\'s not a P4, but it should show you what a bottom line PC can do. So, about what, 3.3 days.
