I am waiting for another person to make up the quorum for a pending credit. I have noticed that this person has not used his maching for over a fortnight but is still getting new wu\'s everyday (up to 656 at the moment).

How is this possible & what can be done to stop it.

I know I will get credit eventually, after the deadline has expired & new wu are created but why should we have to wait so long because of 1 idiot.

That system will probably keep sucking up WUs until it starts missing deadlines (the first batch is due January 9), at which point its quota will start getting reduced. Unfortunately I don’t think there’s anything that can be done about it retroactively or until then.

Are there any systems out there that can actually crunch 100 WUs per CPU in a day? I rather doubt it … perhaps the project should consider reducing the default quota. But I imagine it’s rather tricky striking the right balance between keeping the fastest active hosts in work and preventing excessive downloads by ‘rogue’ systems …

Perhaps somebody with a too large work cache size.

As I saw it on RenderFarm some days ago there\'s a restriction on the cache - you can download only 1 WU to crunch per CPU (or rather core :) ) You finish it - you\'ll get another one :) and it\'s independent on your settings...

Might be a good idea - don\'t really know how Nicolas did it but it speeds up the work flow :) more here

and it could help avoid such situation where the box which is still to return result have 89WUs since 19Dec - pretty low chances to get it done by 16Jan :D

Decreasing the maximum daily WU quota per CPU (100/day presently) can \'help\'.

I guess it will be hard to tell how many WUs per day are enough :) you never know if you\'re going to hit ex. 50 1-liners or 20 50-liners ;)

                  Right.
But we can try anyway. ;)

                    Nice to hear that :)

as long as there\'s something changing in the project we might as well hit good solution by mistake :D
