if you look at the results ID which are \"good\" you\'ll see that in each one of them the \"stderr\" bottom number (in [xxxx]) is different. I suppose they should match between the quorum to grant the credits :)

Perhaps - but how can the system \"know\" which is invalid - until a tie breaker is complete?

Until then, it seem it should be in \"pending\"...

Agreed :) Hope somebody know the answer - I checked on my pendings and found I have similar situation with this.
Looks like the system is using \"guilty until proved not\" logic ;)

Sorry to deny your theory jamin...
Three results (two with [1280000000] and one with [1600000000]) each as valid and granted credit for this WU
And even more so different are three valid (and credit granting) results on this WU, results showing [781201174], [1280000000], and [2133333333].

But back to Philip\'s concern: All but one of the (successful) results are empty and all the results that were returned before Adam manually granted credit (beginning of December 2006 sometime) are shown as \"pending\" in the WU summary but have granted=claimed in the individual results pages. (the other one has granted=0, as expected for pending results)

A look at my own results indicates similar oddity (Adam may want to look at his manual credit granting script):
Some results showing as \"pending\" in the user/host result list do not show up as \"pending\" in the Pending credit page. The individual offending results show granted=claimed yet no credit was actually granted (to the user\'s total).

no need to be sorry :) every theory needs validation ;)
(just give me some time and I\'ll come up with another one :)

How can you tell that any of successful Philip\'s WU results is empty :) don\'t see \"APP: Output is empty, placing msg in out.txt\" message in all 4 \"függőben\" results :)

Still - validation system here makes me wonder... ;)

I\'m psychic... Because I was looking at your example and not Philip\'s and making a fool of myself, silly me, sorry. :)

Looking a bit further, quite a few (haven\'t checked all of my results) of the perpetually pending results (checked but no consensus yet) have either the empty output (typical for one-liners) or the lost heartbeat, which 2/4 of the results from Philip\'s WU have.

This still points to a checkpointing problem, but as to why certain WUs don\'t show up in the Pending credits or actually grant credit when the result says so is a manual credit granting thing.

....when the result says so is a manual credit granting thing.

                  How do you know that?
Is Pending Credit a manual process?
