Adam, the Times given for completion are way off. Most of my Computers say it will take about 1:30:00 to complete the WU's when Downloaded but in fact it's taking me closer to 4 Hours to complete 2 of them in HT Mode.

I had my Preferences set to 2 days and the server gave me close to 5 days of WU's, I will simply not be able to complete the WU's within the Deadlines that they give ... :(

Try using 4.72 CC, it will adjust the time as you crunch WU's to a more accurate guesstimate. "The estimate should drop 10% of the difference between actual and estimated crunch time. The closer that it gets, the more slowly it moves."-JM7.

I think they base the estimates off a 1000M CPU to crunch a WU. I remember reading this in another thread.

      Just my 2.5 cents.

More to the point, if the time is underestimated, the estimate should jump up to whatever the actual time was for the next result.

We now have 4 days for deadlines, if you start complaining about it's too short, I'll commit suicide :)

Please note that estimating how many cycles a program will do (which is needed for the estimated time) is a hard job, nearly impossible. So correcting the estimated time is a thing that if I'll ever do, I'll only start when everthing else is smmothly running...Sorry

I have no Problem with the 4 day Deadline Adam, it was the under-estimation of the Completion Time for the WU's I downloaded that messed me up. I just backed of my Connect Setting & that should take care of it ...

Ahhh... You understand the BOINC community fully now :)
But do not suicide. That is not funnn. Try to remember that after some complaints come better clients and apps. And then on to other complaints. And then more tweaks. That is funnn…

No BOINC project estimates correctly. May be an impossible goal for some projects.

So at least the client is trying to help this situation.

The client is only changing the estimate in 4.7x. 4.45 is stuck with whatever the developers believe it will take.
