As I have an increasing level of pending credits, I just wondered if there is any news on the validator server at all please?
    Many thanks

I think Droids request is not unreasonable - he has over 50 unvalidated results.
Why does someone not respond to basic and simple questions asked in this forum?

Please select from the two possible answers -

      1. Yes - the validator has had problems but will be fixed in the next (insert figure) hours or days.
      2. There is no news on the validator server because the project admins very rarely visit these forums to respond to reasonable requests.

Last Thursday there was a public holiday in Hungary, celebrating the 1848 revolution against Habsburg rule. Public life has in some sectors partially come to a stand-still for 4 days. Maybe your validator problem will be fixed on Monday.

From watching the Server Validator Status over the past few weeks it appears that the validator is being turned on and off from time to time. I suspect that the administrator is manually controlling the server resources in order to maximize the results vs. system resources and overhead. I also suspect that the administrator is doing the very best with the equipment and resources that he/she has available for the project and that manually starting and stopping the Validator is the best way to manage a system with a limited amount of resources. Although I get a big smile on my face seeing my \"credit\" increase -- that is not why I\'m contributing to this project. I contribute for the sake of science and the potential that it has to change our lives for the better. Also, not everyone in this World understands the English language. Anyway, let\'s be patient and continue our contributions to the project.

Thank you Robert and David for your replies - but the question still has not been answered. Surely it is not asking too much for Adam to come forward and say \'Hey guys, yeah we\'re having problems with the validator. It will be fixed in .......\'

What I\'m suggesting is a basic bit of communication here. On CPDN and Einstein there is always someone there to answer queries. And before anyone says \'....but they have a full staff on hand....\' the same sort of response can be seen on ABC@Home where Hendrick is the sole contact and responds immediately.

It\'s been my observation that Adam rarely answers posts unless he can immediately resolve an issue. For example, he recently responded to several problems posted on the The Server Upgrade has a Small Problem thread (and resolved them at the same time). On the other hand, he has been virtually silent on the output empty/checkpointing issue (which has been a problem for a very long time). As you have suggested: \"a bit of communication\" would be nice (but I wouldn\'t hold my breath). At least, in the case of the validator problem, we can occasionally observe the server status change to \"Running\" and infer the problem is being worked on.
