Message 6015 - Posted 31 Mar 2007 12:18:36 UTC

I have just finished a 72 hours WU (1a9d6387-6dd8-4e3d-a31c-ae75a2daaf6d_791a1158-1861-4f99-9dd8-15e6f62ce1ef_4594) where there were two results OK and a lot of cancelled or dead results. But with my result the quorum of 3 is reached to validate.
But now only the two other results get a credit.
    Why didn\'t I get mine?

The validator is not running right now.

Not sure when (?) but two other results got credit \"manually\" (credit claimed = credit granted)
With your wu, the \"Too many total results\" was reached and you got 0 credit.

Not sure if thats always the case, As the one I ran that did the same as thierry\'s did, Didn\'t validate the other users work units until I turned mine in also. As soon as I did, They got their credit and I got nothing. And yet those others who were waiting to be validated had been sitting there for a good while waiting for someone to run the last of the quorum. If he was manually validating the other users work beforehand, They wouldn\'t still be sitting there showing no credit given, They would have already gotten the credit I would imagine. I specifically checked all this before I had turned in my long one and so was able to confirm the above.

            G^R,
That\'s exactly the process. The two other guys were waiting for their credits since begin of January. I hope I will get mine some day :-(

Which shows again that the 5/8/5 limit must be raised, at least temporarily until the real problems are fixed.

This WU had been processed since 16 December 2006 and there is still no canonical result. Boinc considers the 3 unreported results and the 2 aborted results as errors, which they are not according to me. But I guess that the project administrators have no influence on this, so they must react by raising these limits. The WU has only 1 real error (Nem megfelelő funkció), but it fails nevertheless because of too many results. This WU must now be re-created and crunched from scratch, which means that 231+ hours of \"valid\" processing are thrown away, and we have still no guarantee that the same pattern doesn’t happen again. Greetings from Sisyphus!

Let’s hope that Thierry will at least get his credits.

Your result indicates that BOINC and/or your computer was restarted while this WU was in process:

APP: Restarting from checkpoint: Lines processed so far 4
                          APP: Restarting line 4

The other two were not interrupted. The SZTAKI app does not react well when restarted. This message has more about the problem..

                            Thanks for the link/explanation.

Bad enough this problems seems to be not new... and although my comps crunch 24/7 I have to shut down BOINC sometimes.
So I better choose another project as long as this issue isn\'t solved yet. :-(
