Hi, I know that there has been given an esplanation on what we are working on, but can someone give an explanation for a really big math dumbass who doesn't understand the integral stuff, at least it looks like it's beeing integral math to me.

Also, I'm a bit concerned about the WU production, is SZTAKI Desktop Grid, ensuring a big enough flow of WU to keep us present at the project and future members busy?

I don't know exactly what a dumbass is, but if it is what I think, I'm a dumbass too. There's a few expalantion on the home page (in the blue box on the right).

Your remark always remind me a joke :

I'm not sure dumpass is the right word... but again english is not my native language, so maybe there is a better way to describe the lack of skills in math, I just haven't found them yet... but anyway thoug it's late, it doesn't makes it less funnier - it's nice to meet people with a sence of humor...

I can take it thoug. As long as one acknowledge ones weaknesses then one can't really be offended. At least I know I can't get offended. I think it's more preferable to get things told in a political correctly and not offending way, than being told straight out what I need to deal with and not. And again, with a little sense of humor there is really no need to go and sue other people. Also that's not the basic method of solving things in Denmark.

Adam, if your project makes sure there is enough work, such as one can run only your project, you will have at least 1 full time cruncher in me. Glad to notice that you have created more work, was getting a bit concerned about all those red lines in the messages in the BOINC client.

I think you might use the phrase "math idiot".

Since I am a math idiot this is just a guess.. but in the original message you MIGHT have meant to use "integer" instead of "integral" but I am not sure. I can only wish my Hungarian where as good as your English! sok szerencsét -- Skip

Maybe "math idiot" is a better way to descripe my abilities. I just thought that a "math idiot" was a straight A student who would solve even the hardest math issue, in matter of shortest time needed, well guess I could be wrong?

On the other hand, today I made this doscovery on palindrome no., when I did a little calculation on how many numbers there would be if I searched for all up to 256 digits, and guess what I came up with:

1 digit: 10 palindromes
2 digits: 9 palindromes
3 digits: 90 palindromes
4 digits: 90 palindromes
5 digits: 900 palindromes
6 digits: 900 palindromes
7 digits: 9000 palindromes
8 digits: 9000 palindromes
...
255 digits: 9e127 palindromes
256 digits: 9e127 palindromes

In case anyone wonders why I choose 256 digit as the maximum length, it's just the maximum amount of columns available in a math table on your computer in i.e. excel or open office.org, and the way I could use to find the palindromes, at least the fastest way for me, not beeing a programmer, it all made sence to stop at 256 digits.

Maybe one should make a board, where we can share our common discoveries and maybe that way teach each other a little math and maybe educate and help one an other that way around... at least it's just my suggestion :)
