I stopped crunching for Sztaki some while ago, due to the problem with the unpredictable wu length and the (for me) inexplicable way credit was granted. All these issues were mentioned in the thread \"How long is short\" (http://szdg.lpds.sztaki.hu/szdg/forum_thread.php?id=437)
Now, after some inactive time, I would like to get some work on my Mobile AMD Athlon 1800+, but I wonder whether it could deal with the wu length in a meaningful way, while crunching also for other projects.

Could somebody please tell me whether the old problems got resolved and whether my slow laptop can be of any use here. I would just hate to lose my valuable CPU cycles and/or risk not to be granted any credits.

In my opinion, the latest version of the program is much improved over what we had several months ago. That is, the Empty Output/Checkpoint problem seems to be less of an issue - but not fixed completely. There are also issues with the validator. Furthermore, WU\'s still vary quite a bit in the time required for processing - but I haven\'t seen a very, very long one (100+ hours) in quite a while. I suggest you try the project again on a limited basis by doing what I do. I leave the project set to \"No new tasks\". Occasionally, I click \"Allow new tasks\" and download a WU. Then I immediately go back to \"No new tasks\".
