Im getting the following error when i try to report the finished WUs on my 64Bit linux machine:

11.11.2007 16:32:05|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks
11.11.2007 16:32:05|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Requesting 1641 seconds of new work, and reporting 2 completed tasks
    11.11.2007 16:32:10|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Scheduler RPC succeeded [server version 506]
11.11.2007 16:32:10|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Message from server: platform \'x86_64-pc-linux-gnu\' not found
    11.11.2007 16:32:10|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Deferring communication for 1 min 0 sec
11.11.2007 16:32:10|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Reason: no work from project

    Where has the platform gone?
It was there when I downloaded the WUs, and it was there when the WUs where uploaded after they where finished. But now, i am not able to report them, and downloading new WUs does not work, too.

Presently, the server has no work to send (ready to send = 1) but of course, that doesn\'t explain why you can\'t upload your finished wus.

They are already uploaded, but i can\'t report them.

I will be away from home till next saturday, but this machine will be running from time to time until then.

I hope there will be a solution soon.

We does not have the 64 bit platform and as I\'ve said in the other posts, we cannot yet fall in line with the BOINC source repository. Working on it and I do hope that we will be able to...soon

            I\'ve got the same issue.
            Download/crunch/upload - fine.
            Report - broken.
So it looks like it\'s correctly sending a 32bit app when a 64bit box asks for one, but when you try to report it the server complains that it\'s 64bit.
Is there a way to a) completely turn off service for 64bit users, or b) whatever handles the actual WU down/upload for 64bit do the same for the reporting?
If neither I\'ll have to detach my 64bit box from the project, which is a shame.

So i will have to set this machine to \"no new work\" until the issue is fixed.

I just \"upgraded\" to 5.10.30 64 bit and now have 9 work units that just sit in \"Ready to Report\". They must have been downloaded before the upgrad? No new work units coming in from a couple of projects but SZTAKI is the only one giving a message back \"1/3/2008 9:53:57 AM|SZTAKI Desktop Grid|Message from server: platform \'windows_x86_64\' not found\"

Yeah, it may be true that there\'s no 64-bit app. But if you wrote the application that BOINC sends out, it should be a simple matter to tell the server to send out the 32-bit version when it sees the 64-bit/Linux platform. It just means that some parts of the cpu won\'t be used.

You should make some availability to report finished tasks, before you make full support for x64. x32 tasks compute perfectly on Vista SP1.

Crap, I just just attached 10 Linux 64b machines thinking I\'d get the 32b app.

I\'m running v5.10.45 of the core client but as I recall isn\'t \"send the 32b version\" also dependent on a minimum version of the server side BOINC also?

Updating the server is one of my number one plans for a while now, but I always hit the strong wall of system admins here, who wants to move the database of the project to a dedicated hardware, then install a new server with the current software, move the current server to the new hardware and keep the old server as a backup. However, this is a big enough task, so that it always gets interrupted by something smaller. I\'ll keep fighting...

I recommend using the massive security holes in the old BOINC server, as the way to prioritize this upgrade.
