I have two machines attached to Sztaki.

    Both Macintel, both Leopard 10.5.4

The first, a Mac Mini with boinc 5.10.45, the second a Mac Pro with Boinc Manager 6.2.14.

The first gets \"sometimes\" WU\'s and crunches them w/o problem.

The second gets the following messages:
Requesting 225133 seconds of work, reporting 0 completed tasks
Scheduler request succeeded: got 0 new tasks
Message from server: platform \'x86_64-apple-darwin\' not found

Could it be that there is a problem with this version 6.2.14 and that I need to revert or is it something foreseen on Sztaki side ?

Thanks for the feedback ! :-)

I think it might be that SZTAKI\'s server software needs updating for a proper fix, but in the meantime reverting the unintelligent Boinc Manager to version 5.10.45 is the workaround I am using.

      iMac intel:
BOINC client version 5.10.45 for i686-apple-darwin = SZTAKI tasks (when available)
BOINC client version 6.2.14 for x86_64-apple-darwin = No tasks; platform not found

I\'ve got the same issue that McRoger has.
I don\'t know if the problem is due to the new version of boinc or to Sztaki.
Probably a combination of both. Perhaps the Sztaki server is not \"ready\" for this new version of boinc...

I hope we\'ll get an answer from the Sztaki\'s administrators soon.

        (I hope i\'m understandable in englsih :))

Thanks for your input Harry, this is what I did in the meantime (keeping all my fingers crossed that the BOINC \"downgrade\" does not cause any problems for preferences files structure etc) and it worked.

I just needed to change the BOINC preference settings as my Mac Pro has 4 cores and not 2 (max number of CPU used in a multi CPU machine was defaulted to 2).

          I hope I\'ll get WU\'s now... ;-)

Yep. If you have a Core2 processor + Mac + BOINC 6.x.x, you will be 64 bit. And that = x86_64-apple-darwin. SZTAKI is too old to know that.

So I tried using the anonymous platform (using the app_info.xml), but the server is even too old for that, if you can believe it.

And that brings up the REAL problem. Server code that old has MASSIVE security holes. As a malicious person, I could get access to every user account, including passwords and settings. That includes the admins\' accounts too.

So...how to get the server code updated? How to get the admins to respond?
