In fact, sz is not only a single sound, but is also considered by Hungarians to be one single letter which has its own place in the alphabet and which is also written like this in abbreviations and in acronyms.

I believe Spanish does the same with ch and ll.

They removed the \'ellya\'?, \"ll\" from Spanish a couple years ago... well maybe that was just Mexico. Legislated a letter out of the alphabet... I find that funny.

Test feedback needed for AMD friendly code. Update available here

Various clock speeds but all > stock/default.

Existing app works (well runs over 1 min) onz:

754 socket Semprons 3000, 3100, 3300 crunchers. All Palermo core Rev DH-E6s.
Same for Manchester and Toledo core X2 machines

I downloaded and renamed it to v2.01 and tried it on a 3 socket A AMD XP machines, a Thoroughbred core, a Thorton core and a Barton core DTR. All went thru there workunits in 1 sec with:

Rebirther - You \"the man\" ...with all the answers :-)

Thanx much, I\'ll install it on my socket A barton/thorton core next.

The OC\'d Sempron64s sure like it:

2.75GHz Palermo(128K L2) - ran 2, avg 00:11:45
2.60GHz Palermo(256K L2) - ran 1, avg 00:13:19
2.25GHz Palermo(256K L2) - ran 2, avg 00:18:15
2.25GHz Palermo(128K L2) - ran 2, avg 00:22:24

The Pentium M 1.6G(Banias) came in at 00:25:12 which I believe to be about half it\'s \"normal\" time but I can\'t back that up with actual numbers because I\'d just cleared out my BoincLogX files.

The old PIII .930GHz went from 4,274.36 early today to 1,897.45 on last w/u.

Thanx again for your help, Skip

This is on a Sempron 64 w/ SSE2 & 3

Could this be because this machine may not have ever done any SZTAKI work using search_1.12 before and there for it\'s doing some sort of sig check that it wouldn\'t if it\'d already rx\'d the executable file?

Yepp, thats right ;)

And is this REALLY a SSE2 app... I accidently installed it on one of my Thorton core XP (SSE but not SSE2)machines and it was running along fine till I stopped it and replaced the optimized back with the original from another machine! Guess I would\'ve expected it to abend rather quickly. ? Thanx, Skip

In my \'szdg.lpds.sztaki.hu_szdg\' folder, under \'Projects\', I have this executable:
search_1.12_windows_intelx86.exe 196KB 5/28/2006 4:51am

Is this the one that should be replaced with
search_1.12_windows_intelx86.exe 196KB 5/29/2006 6:56pm
from the sdq11210.zip?

I question this only because the dates are so close.

Thanx, Skip

There seems to be no effort to resolve problems or to keep participants informed on the status of the system or any problems.

Unicorn,
If you only joined on Dec. 13,2005, then you have no knowledge of what few \"bumps\" there have been here, nor how quickly the problems have been solved.
Only one person is here to solve the problems and Adam is doing an excellent job. Everyone, including me, would like to be informed about the status of the system, but when there is not enough time for Adam to solve problems, write documentation, have time for himself, and inform us, expect some delay in communication. Adam has been faster in the past in keeping us informed, but with the work to update to 5.x, test 5.x, translate the website from Hungarian into English, he has not had time to keep up with \"news\".

Adam does resolve most problems asap. There have been delays caused by the ones in charge of SZTAKI, but as soon as Adam was given the go ahead, he did get everything back on track.

I have been with Seti for 8 years or more and I find they run a professional operation, keeping you informed of problems they are aware of and working to resolve them ASAP.

Seti started in May 1999 when I signed up. Not sure how you were with Seti for 8 or more years? And talk about problems - Seti has had a lot of problems and many in recent times. The problems have not in most cases been solved quickly.
They do have more people to solve the problems than SZTAKI, therefore they should be able to do so faster.

I see no effort here to resolve issues or to communicate with the community.

As I said before, Adam is the only one here to do the work. You would know that if you had been here longer.

As I stated originally I will give this 2 more days then I am out of here unless problems are resolved or some timeline is provided to resolving what seems to be total chaos or lack of care about the project.

With BOINC, there are several other projects to work on. I have noticed some of them have problems also (worst than here), but in every case the people running them are doing their best to solve the problems. SETI would welcome you back.

Jim,I would recommend that you stay with SZTAKI for a couple of weeks or longer to see that the present problems will be solved. Adam will continue to make improvements asap, but also know that Adam has other things to do, such as writing the documentation for the ones in charge.

Thanks,
Richard

Well said.

Adam,
Did you see the message elsewhere about LHC having had this problem and it was some sort of dB update missing?

I\'ve seen it, but I\'ve double checked the database and the structure is correct. No columns missing...

Hmmmm... Don\'t know if this will help but some of this looks like it\'s bleeding into the exported .xml stats files also:

HERE

Note the CPU and OS columns.

Ok, than I have no figure where the problem is, but I\'ll figure it out...don\'t you worry! :-)

Adam,
Did you see the message elsewhere about LHC having had this problem and it was some sort of dB update missing? Don\'t know if this is right or not but maybe something to look at. It might have been tied to the venue problem.

HERE and HERE

I was going to post the link to the LHC discussion but it\'s giving me the \"too many connections\" error now so I can\'t get back to it.
