While checking my results page,

I finally saw someone finish a 1a9d.. WU from 14 September at 737,000+. I had aborted mine at 205,000+, and I give kudos to the person that ran that WU for 8.5 days and had it finish successfully....

Not that it matters , but with that CPU time in E@H, one\'s cobblestones would be projected to be about 2,800....

But congrats for having it finished!!!

I\'m kind of worried about my new WU. At 48 hours, it\'s at ... wait for it ... 0% still. I hope it is a 2 line run. At least I have a few days to complete it.

At 51 hours, it jumped to 10% done....

Of course, I had to shut boinc down to do it and bring it back up. 20% at about 57 hours - restarting boinc...

Now, up to ~110 hours and still stuck at 20%. Should I abort???

Hey Ron...just a note to say that I have yet to see anyone finish a WU that begins with 1a9d...

Here is my results page. You will notice that any project beginning with a \"0\" or a \"2\" seems to finish...it is my belief that these 1a....WU\'s are just burning up CPU time...Stan

Maybe someone has finished one of these 1a...WU\'s and could share that news with us....

Hey John..good to see you again...

Here are my results page

You will notice that the 2 WU\'s that did finish are 25 lines(whatever that means, but they talk about it a lot in the forum as if someone told me how they constructed the programming)

Also these WU\'s start with 0f7....you can see that these get done processing...

but, I am beginning to have \"reservations\" about a project here that starts with a number 1 .... I have just one left that is at 20% with 57 hours and a completion time of 67 hours, but the completion time keeps climbing. Unfortunately, I have been reading elsewhere in these forums that folks are reaching 200 hours of time and getting an \"error\" reading after reaching 200 hours. not good. I have only 1 PC here...user stats

I have suspended that WU to see if anyone else finishes it. If they do, I would then go to finish it. If I remember correctly, that was a suggestion of Nightbird, which makes sense to me.

Just some general info here...I got 3 downloads on the 14th that were showing initial completion times of 45 minutes each. As you can see, that time element was not a correct projection..

WU 1 went 24 + hours

WU 2 went 34 + hours

for the 3rd WU , it now shows a completion time of 34 + hours, instead of the initial 45 minutes, but at least the WU\'s are completing successfully.

As a side note, I compared the credit projections to E@H, and SZTAKI is about 40 credits lower per WU as a proportion of time spent crunching.

I am \"NOT\" complaining, just find the variances in each project to be interesting.....

Bill... I had a similiar problem that you did, but I posted my findings here

stan\'s msg..

please note that I was as confused as you were but I did get a good result..

Good news.... The WU completed successfully in a little over 24 hours....since this ran so well, I am going to let the other 2 WU\'s that downloaded also run to the end....

since this WU finished with a completion time of over 24 hours, the completion time shown in the manager readjusted itself from 45 minutes to 24 hrs, 14 minutes for the other two (2) WU\'s....

Now we wait to see how the 276 credits will be allocated...will probably take some time to reach a quorum, but that is OK with me.... interesting...

I have also a WU that was at 20% and 2 hours this morning and now it\'s around 12 hours and still 20%......
If we knew if it\'s normal or not that would be nice.

Thierry...I have to agree with you...This is the only project I have seen where the time to complete is getting larger to finish than smaller. My WU started at 45 minutes to completion and after 2 hours is showing 8% done with more than 2 hours to completion with that number also getting larger.THAT, I have never seen before in any project... it has to be in the programming, but hey...those days are now gone for me...LOL..anyway, will still give it 24 hours to see what happens... Well, I came back to try my luck at crunching here. have to admit i am still confused about the way that the project time is initially reported and then the completion time seeming to grow to what number of hours?

Have 3 WU\'s that show intial times of 54 minutes...of course, that is now changing...but I am going to stick with it for at least 24 hours to see what happens..Being a Math major from 40 years ago, I respect the idea of this project, just not sure what a finished WU looks like here....I am \"NOT\" complaining, just interested....

yep, your report might give Adam a hint where to look for the error.

Maybe some test option for standalone mode or something is enabled so it waits for keyboard input (or a kill signal) instead of reporting \"finish\" status to the BOINC client.

Ananas...Appreciate your comments...Stan

@Stan : did you notice Exit status 0 (0x0) ?

The stderr file looks like a \"full run\" too.

Maybe the program expects keyboard input or something like that at the end

Ananas.. I do not claim to understand why this occurred. But, I thought it best to report it.
